THE SAVE LUISA AND NILO MOVEMENT

The Save Luisa and Nilo Movement was formed on April 14, 2007 in Iloilo City to spearhead the search for the abducted activists Leonilo Abao Arado and Maria Luisa Arches Posa-Dominado and the campaign to seek justice for them and Jose Ely Tagamolila Garachico. The Movement is composed of the families of the victims, representatives from the organizations of which they are members, their friends, colleagues and other concerned citizens who want to put a stop to the forced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and other forms of state terrorism and political repression in the Philippines. It was officially launched on April 19, 2007 at the Carmelite Missionary in Lapaz. The convenors are all volunteers.
